White Swan-Black Swan

I finally got to see the movie Black Swan this week. I know that the reviews are far from unanimous, but I must admit, I quite loved it. Natalie Portman's transformation into the black swan was mesmerizing, bone chilling and in my view, worth the ticket. As an artist, I could also relate to certain scenes depicting her suffering (emotionally, not physically) for her art.

There is an interesting article in the New York Times today about the reactions of real life ballerinas to the movie.

How do you feel about it? Did you enjoy?

Happy Friday!!!

Hope you had a lovely week! I managed to get some fresh air and  spend time with family. I am now ready to forge ahead with my writing and a few personal projects. I also have a few surprises in the works so please stop in again!

I realize that this is my second designer bag ad in a row, maybe I am subconsciously craving a bit of shopping!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend,

Isabelle

Inspiration: Mulberry Spring Campaign

Giving you a little glimpse of springtime! I'm loving  these gorgeous ads with clusters of one of my favorite flowers: pink and blue hydrangeas. I've planted some in my garden over the years and always pick up potted ones as soon as they become available. And the little piglet is adorable too!

Stephanie's DIY: a better you!

This week's DIY will be a little different; I'm going to suggest work on the most important thing in your life- YOU!  I will, without regret, be the one to tell you that yes, you have to keep your resolution this year.  There's no better time than now and as the old chinese proverb goes, "A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step."

Last year I managed to kick the worst habit I've ever had- smoking.  I come to you with the experience of success, the bitterness of wanting one more, and the sweet serenity of being freed of the want to win.

Whether your goal is to travel more, be a better friend, eat healthier or learn to love yourself and the things you already have, the steps are all the same.  My favorite new habit is to bite off what I can chew by starting small.  It's not easy at first so I know I have to work my way up to a full achievement with every new challenge.  Here's the link to an article in TIME magazine with some real expert advice on how to attain your goals and another one  with some apps to keep you on track.

Remember, you're worth the effort and dedication.  This is one DIY that you shouldn't avoid attempting!

Good luck gorgeous readers!

Pale loveliness

Loving all the pale pinks, winter whites and beige this season. Just found a white fuzzy fur jacket with embedded scarf on sale.  Can't wait to wear it and share it!

Happy Monday!!!

Walk with the dreamers
the believers,
the courageous,
the cheerful,
the planners, the doers,
the successful people with their head in the clouds
and their feet on the ground,
let their spirit ignite a fire within you,
to leave this world better than when you found it.

-Wilfred Peterson

A great quote to start the year, no? Hope it will inspire you to ignite that fire within. A special thank you to Janie for her lovely review of J'adore New York.
