Happy Monday from Paris!

I've just landed in the City of Light.

Looking forward to catching up with some fantastic people, seeing some exhibits and lots and lots of fashion as inspiration for my next novel.

I don't know about you but I must admit to being left speechless by the news regarding John Galliano. Let's just hope that everything works out for the best at Dior.

Have a lovely week, can't wait to share some photographs of my stay in this gorgeous city.

Pre-Oscar Parties

This is an exciting week in Hollywood, lots of glamorous pre-Oscar parties are under way.

Harvey Weinstein co-hosted a party at Chateau Marmont last night with Dior that included Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway and Emmy Rossum, among others...
Apparently Dior linens and tableware were flown in directly from Paris for the event. How I wished I was there.  What would I wear to such a soirée? Black dress, red lips and lots of pearls!

I am sharing the lively Brooke Fraser video sent to me by my friend Stephanie, I just love the styling for it, don't you?

I ♥ Color

I've just discovered the art of San Francisco native, Lisa Congdon. I really like the color palette she uses and her whimsical illustrations. She apparently works with numerous publishers, including mine: Harper Collins Publishers.

Her book , A Collection A day, will be available in March 2011.

J'adore!

Happy Monday + Un Dimanche à Paris

Happy Monday! Hope you had a fantasic weekend!

I'm very excited to share pictures of a gorgeous boutique I discovered while in Barbados last week: Un Dimanche à Paris. It is owned by Isabelle Meniaud, a French native who recently moved to the Island with her husband and adorable children. Given that my next novel will take place in Paris, I was immediately smitten with this space!

Located in Holetown, St. James in the new Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, her boutique was elegantly decorated by her husband with treasures found in French flea markets. Two large & stunning mirrors were lovingly restored by Isabelle'e sister and vintage chairs and sofas allow visitors to sit while taking in the lovely space. But what is most striking about her shop are the treasures she carries: gorgeous and unique jewelry, K. Jacques tropeziennes sandals, Astier De Villate candles, Vanessa Bruno bags and designer clothing by designer Isabel Marant and other interesting labels.

I was fortunate to enjoy a lovely lunch with Isabelle, her husband and her entourage and will have the opportunity to see her again in France.

Her shop is not to be missed should you visit this gorgeous Island!

Merci Isabelle!

Sunday Lounging

Isn't Sunday just grand? After doing loads of post travel laundry, I can now kick back and finish the novel I started last week: Still Alice by Lisa Genova, about a woman hit with early onset of Alzheimer's Disease. Although difficult to read, this amazing story will haunt you for days.

On a lighter note, I'm looking forward to getting back to my writing  and I am especially excited about my upcoming research trip to France, where I'll get to meet lots of inspiring people, including Haleigh of Making Magique, a lovely designer working for Zac Posen, an anti-counterfeiting legal expert and attend a few runway shows during Paris Fashion Week.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday.

Happy Friday!!!

Happy Friday! Hope you are having a fantastic week! I'm soaking up the last rays of sunshine before heading back home. I made some new friends in this gorgeous paradise and I can't wait to share some of my great finds.

I also read and really enjoyed the memoir Lunch in Paris by Elizabeth Bard while on vacation. It's her story: an American who finds love and other delicacies in City of Light. She also shares some drool worthy recipes which I'm anxious to try once i get back in my own kitchen.

Don't forget to participate in the J'Adore New York giveaway on Making Magique!
