Happy Monday!!

Happy Monday from San Francisco! I'm here for a few days, enjoying the sights and sounds of this magical city.    My trip began with an exciting start as I sat in the same row as the lovely Tyra Banks on my way here. Needless to say, I was a bit starry eyed...  I also began reading a super dishy chick-lit novel about the world of fashion: The Liar, the Bitch and the Wardrobe. A title that says it all, really.

I'm heading to the Carmel area today, looking forward to catching the sea and the amazing views.

Wishing you a fantastic week!

Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday!! I haven't covered any fashion week highlights so I thought I would share my favorite shots so far.  The first one is my favorite, I want to be her when I grow up! :o)

The photos taken by Jamie Beck are spectacular ( second and third), the Tory Burch pic on the Daily Beast is a hoot,  Natalie Joos never disappoints and that great sweatshirt looks oh so cozy with a lace skirt!

Congratulations to the winner of the book giveaway: JULIA!

Have a great weekend!

The Sweet Escape

Can you say ooooh la la la la?  This fashion editorial for W magazine photographed by Nick Knight,  sugary sweet with a darkish edge, has given me a major sugar rush.  Believe it or not, these are actual pictures...the art direction is simply sensational, non?

The winner of the book giveaway will be selected this evening. There's still a bit of time left, so please do go for it!

As a side note, I'm leaving for California on Saturday, then New York. Although I'm very excited about my trip, I'm desperately trying to figure out what to pack while tying up loose ends with work...all I can say is that it will be one majorly heavy suitcase!

Chapeau!

I adore all the great hats this fall. They seem to be popping up everywhere. I have a lovely blue wool fedora that I bought at Monoprix in Paris last year and I can't wait to start wearing it. It adds a touch of chic, n'est-ce pas?

Happy Monday + Be Happier!

Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed a great weekend.  The trees are slowly changing colors here,  the air is crisp and cool, making me feel refreshed and energized...

I am sharing a few tips by Katrina Love Senn about how to live an inspiring life. I find her website inspirational and her message rings true. I hope it does for you! Have a great week!

Do you want to live a life filled with purpose, meaning and inspiration?

The good thing is that anyone can live an inspired life; filled with happiness and joyfulness.
Realise that any frustration that you are experiencing right now is actually an invitation for you to transform...

Feeling stuck is an opportunity for you to experiment with something different. When you do this, you can start to live an empowered and powerful life that you love.

Today, my message is simple: starting right now, you can live an inspiring life that you love.  Realise that to live a life you love, you do not need to be born into the right family, nor do you need more beauty, brains, money or anything else.

Here are 4 ideas that I have personally used in my own life that can help you to create an inspirational life that you love, as well...

Idea #1: Think big.

Constantly surround yourself with thoughts of what you want to achieve. Let your big thoughts encourage and inspire you to connect with your dreams. No matter what anyone says, remember, that you deserve to live a life that you love.
It was David Joseph Schwartz, author of “The Magic of Thinking Big,” and world-renowned expert on motivation, who said,
“Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success.”

Idea #2: Read and collect inspiring quotes.

Use inspirational quotes to empower and inspire you on your journey towards success.  Think of inspirational quotes as inspirational thoughts that you can use to help you navigate your path towards creating a life that inspires you.
Here are a couple of inspirational quotes that I have used in the past to re-inspire myself in the face of challenge or difficulty in my life…
“It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.”
–E.E. Cummings
“You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” –A.A. Milne

Idea #3: Surround yourself with inspirational people.

Connect with mentors and other people who believe in you and can inspire you to go beyond who you are and what you think you are capable of. The most successful people are those that can turn the lessons of hardship and failure into their platform for success.  Even if you can’t spend time with them in person, immerse yourself in their inspirational messages through audio, books or videos.
Have a think about who inspires you? What people do you like to spend time with? How can you spend more time with them? Do you enjoy reading their books, listening to them on audio or watching them on film?

Idea #4: Keep going until you succeed.

Most successful people don’t succeed the first time they try something. Gosh, they might not succeed the second or even the third time. But, if they keep trying they eventually get it.
The secret to creating a life that you love is to keep trying out new and different things until you find a way that works for you. The types of strategies that work for one person, may not work for another. Keep on experimenting by trial-and-error until you find what works best for you.
Did you know that a baby falls over approximately 700 times before it takes its’ first step forward? Imagine if it gave up after the first few attempts!  It would be destined to a life without walking.

Let these ideas inspire you to live a life that you love!

When you surround yourself with inspirational thoughts and people that you respect you can live an amazing life that you absolutely love.

Sweet apartment

I absolutely love this sweet apartment which belongs to jewelry designer, Stine A. Johansen

The art is the best pat of it. The colors, textures and patters are amazing, especially the polk dots in the first photograph.

I'm into the polka dot craze, which started this spring at Louis Viotton, and  is still going strong. Et vous?
