Christene Barberich: Founder of Refinery 29

I came across a lovely article in the New York Times about Christene Barberich, the founder and creative director of Refinery 29, the fashion website. I was immediately smitten by her vintage sensibility; She rarely wears jeans ( she only owns two pairs, including a vintage pair from France) and given that I am feeling a bit "jeaned-out" at the moment, I admire her sense of refinement and style. Having also recently cleaned out my closets because of a move, I must admit to being a bit tired of all the "fast fashion" items I've picked up in the recent past. Perhaps I am moving to a more selective, restrained and quality conscious shopping mindset? I must be getting older and wiser...!

There definitely is a different feeling when you pick up a quality item as opposed to a disposable one.

I adore her statement lipstick and Refinery 29!

She's absolutely classic! So glad I got a dose of her vintage style before I went mad on Cyber Monday on "fast" items!

Thank you for introducing me to Christene and Refinery 29. I had never heard of the website, but have now bookmarked it. She has a wonderful retro style and her hair is fantastic.
Have a wonderful week Isabelle.
