Happy Monday!! Hope you had a fantastic weekend! After a crazy busy week, I was able to relax on Sunday with some reading, gardening and cooking. I picked up a copy of The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. I noticed that the covers are much different in Canada and the UK from the U.S. cover and in my opinion, prettier. Which one do you prefer?

I've been dreaming of quiet walks on the beach, reading novels and eating lobster rolls...Sighhhh.

Birks Sterling Silver Bracelet Collection

I am absolutely delighted to have been invited by Birks to create a post about their gorgeous sterling silver bracelet collection as I have been a loyal fan and client of this prestigious jewelry store for years. These gems are the perfect accessory to match light summer dresses or bright and colorful outfits. I am particularly fond of the Birks Seaside Collection, made with delicate fresh water pearls that evoke happy childhood memories of vacations by the sea.

 

O what a night with Jean Paul Gaultier!

I attended the opening of the Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts yesterday evening with my dear friend and stylist, Serge Jean Laviolette and Marie-Geneviève Cyr, a former participant of Project Runway Canada. It was a FANTASTIC night. Mr. Gaultier himself was in attendance and gave a very moving speech. The turn out was so unbelievable, attracting several thousand Montrealers.

This exhibit is not to be missed. Unfortunately, there were so many people I didn't get a chance to view it all so I'm looking forward to going back at a quieter time to really take in all the details. I'm very proud as a Montrealer to see such wonderful initiatives taken by members of the artistic community. For the event, I wore one of his jackets that I bought in New York several years ago. It is timeless. I also wore red stilettos that totally killed my feet, but that's a whole different story.

Mr. Gaultier will be making an appearance at La Baie today between noon and 2pm.

I've made it to the chapter about Scott Fitzgerald in Hemingway's, The Moveable Feast and it is quite entertaining. You can imagine both of them drinking whiskey at La Closerie des Lilacs in Paris. They were both real characters and the book renders a vivid portrait of their friendship and sometimes rivalry.

I am looking forward to attending the Gaultier exhibit this evening and catching up with friends at the event.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! It was rainy here but very relaxing. I've almost finished reading Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, which is a memoir of his days in Paris and is a real treat for the senses. Next on my reading list: The Paris Wife, the story of Hemingway's first wife, Hadley.

Looking forward to an exciting week ahead, starting with drinks tonight with a NYC friend who made it on Project Runway and attending the opening of Jean Paul Gaultier's show on Tuesday Night. I promise to post pictures of this event.
