Happy Monday!!

"Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness."

"When you become aware of silence, immediately there is that state of inner still alertness. You are present. You have stepped out of thousands of years of collective human conditioning."

ECKHART TOLLE, Stillness Speaks

Happy Monday!!

Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed a fantastic weekend!  Mine was very low key, as planned.  I'm finishing  Rules Of Civility by Amor Twles, a Gatsby-esque romp through New York in the late thirties. It's fantastically written and the plot is riveting. Someone make a movie out of this story,  pretty please! And to Mr. Towles, who toils on Wall Street; please write another book, don't waste your precious talent in high finance...!

I will be posting sporadically this week, meetings in town and a short trip away oblige. I couldn't resist sharing these lovely photos by Ilona Jongepier in Paris. The styling is superb and the girl and dog, so sweet.

Speaking of lovable pups, if you happen to live in the Montreal area, I encourage you to drop in to Pitou, Minou & Compagnons, on Queen Mary Road for some special treats for your furry friends. The service is very friendly and second to none. In the next few weeks, they will be organizing pet adoption days and nail clippings. You can take a peek at their Facebook page for more details.

Have a fantastic week! xo

Happy Monday!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you're enjoying the heart of the summer. The warm days, the gorgeous light and the fresh produce.

I'm enjoying my daily trips to the local market, picking up watermelon, fresh berries and home grown tomatoes.

Speaking of watermelon, have you ever tried this simple recipe? It's divine and so simple to make! And these squares would look fantastic as an appetizer.

Happy Monday!!

I hope you enjoyed a fantastic weekend!

The weather has been sensational this summer and I've been enjoying every second of it. I was in Toronto on Friday, and had the chance to visit the sublime exhibit about Roger Vivier. His shoes, especially the ones created for the House of Dior, were like precious jewels for the feet. It,s no wonder that he received custom orders from famous actresses, princesses and fashion editors from around the world.

Afterwards, I spent some lovely time with my editor and then a bit of window shopping.

On Sunday, I attended a lecture by former Prime Minister Paul Martin during the Knowlton Wordfest. He was there to discuss his book, Hell or Highwater and current work in Africa. It was quite fascinating.  Afterwards, the talented Louise Penny interviewed Shelagh Rogers, a journalist from the CBC. Both of them are fantastic and their heartfelt conversation was delightful.

I hope you enjoy a wonderful week!

Oh happy Monday!!!

Oh what a happy day this is! I can officially confirm that J'Adore Paris, my second novel, is now officially complete! Yes, it's taken a long time, there have been numerous rounds of revisions to make the story the best it can be. I must admit that I'm also a stickler for details, whether it be the research behind a plotline, the way a character speaks or is dressed, as well as all the places mentioned in the story...Details are critical to me. The publication is planned for next spring!

Needless to say, I'm absolutely thrilled and will be celebrating this grand news all week, including another trip to Toronto.

Wishing you all an amazing week!

Happy Monday!

Bonjour mes amies. I hope you enjoyed the weekend. I've decided to share a few details from my weekend. First up, an Yves Jean Lacasse tulle skirt worn for a photography session with a talented photographer friend.

A pair of pretty Victorian lamps I picked up antiquing for a song!

A sweet butterfly bikini I bought at Wal-Mart for $14.00!

A summertime novel by the talented Elin Hildebrand. Oh, the Nantucket drama!

The vintage Victor Costa dress and Louis Vuitton shoes I wore during the photo session. I was fascinated by the designer's history!

Some lovely flowers blooming in my garden.

Wishing you all a fantastic week!

Happy Monday!!!

Happy Monday! Did you enjoy the weekend? Mine was lovely and included spending time with a close friend ( a Hollywood actor, nothing less), doing a bit of digging at a local flea market and reading. It's been quite refreshing to be reading novels other than my own...

Today was a big day on the fashion scene, with Raf Simons presenting his first haute couture collection, which was a triumph according to Cathy Horyn of the New York Times.

You can view the runway show on video via Elle France.

Have a fantastic week!

Happy Monday + Living Free

Happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed a fantastic weekend. Mine was heavenly: it included attending a good friend's birthday party and catching up with old friends and lots of gardening, planting and relaxing.

I'm in a major hippie mood these days. I want to drink the wild air, eat pink grapefruit, wear flowers in my hair and drive around in a (pink!) VW Westfalia.

Do current world events have anything to do with it? Maybe. My new yoga practice + lifestyle habits may be having an influence...

Wishing you all peace and love.

P.S.:  For some amazing creative inspiration, listen to Neil Gaiman's speech here.

Happy Monday!!

I hope you enjoyed a fabulous weekend. Mine was extremely relaxing: I did very little. I read and watched old movies; a welcome break.

I'm delighted to announce the winner of the party giveaway: Pamela Fitzgerald.  Please send me an e-mail with your mailing address.

How pretty is this editorial for Working Class magazine  by Jamie Beck? It's putting me in a summery mood!

Have a fantastic week!
