I attended Louise Penny's SPCA tea benefit over the weekend. She and her husband Michael have a stunning home in the Eastern Townships and raised $12 000 in one afternoon! There were numerous rescue dogs in attendance that made my heart swell. There should be severe penalties against those who abandon and mistreat dogs, it's totally unacceptable.
