Think Pink with Marco Polo

As you are no doubt aware, this month is breast cancer awareness month.

Marco Polo Designs has created the Strawberry Cream line of necklaces, bracelets and earrings featuring pink swirls of glass entwined with creamy white with precious gold foil and sparkly copper dust.

The 'heart' that started it all

It all started with the Strawberry Cream Heart Pendant, Marco Polo's most popular Couture Heart. Then, after an employee was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, Marco Polo designers went to work, patterning the rest of the pieces in her honor, launching the line the following year. The latest in the line to roll out for 2011 is the Strawberry Cream Cable Necklace, a delicate yet sturdy rendition, featuring  three, hand-crafted Murano glass beads on a multi-strand, sterling silver cable.

All year around, Marco Polo Designs donates a portion of the proceeds from each sale of Strawberry Cream jewelry to breast cancer research sponsored by the Komen Foundation. The Strawberry Cream collection is not only stunning, it's a testament to the beauty of breast cancer survival, an employee of Marco Polo who is cancer-free and going strong!

And that is fantastic news!

Blanco Smile Campaign + Writing Habits

This fall advertising campaign for Blanco is wonderful. The title is simple but effective:  Smile!
You can view the behind the scenes video below, it is also lovely.

A MAJOR thank you goes out to Liz and Lisa of Chick Lit is not Dead for having me on their popular blog as well as Oodles of Books for her great review of my book.

Finally, for all of you aspiring writers, I thought I'd share a blog post  by the prolific Danielle Steel about her work ethic and writing habits.

If you think writing looks easy, even when you've sold millions of books and have been on all the bestseller lists, think again. Reading this post made me want to run back to bed and hide under the duvet. Why? because when I'm writing a book, I have the same life  (or lack thereof) and seeing it described by someone else makes you realize how grueling this can be.  I'm not complaining but simply sharing the highs and lows that come with the territory. It's all the more reason to support and celebrate the work of fellow authors.

Have a great day!

Happy Monday!!!

Happy Monday! My apologies for the late post, I've been having a pretty hectic weekend. Today is Canadian Thanksgivingthe weather has been spectacular and I spent most of the time outdoors, taking in the gorgeous scenery.

I did a bit of cooking and tried this wonderful roast chicken recipe by Jamie Oliver that was to die for!

Happy Friday + Scenes from NYC!

Hello! Happy Friday!

I just returned from a short trip to New York! It was a great time and I was lucky to attend a fashion show organized by Juliette Longuet at the stunning Soho Mondrian Hotel and to meet the reputable contemporary artist from Quebec Corno.
(I was beyond thrilled when she told me that she had read and enjoyed my novel, I almost keeled over!)

Juliette's recent collection is classic with a touch of Manhattan glamour, perfect for the New York City working woman.

I attended this event with the lovely Dawn of the Alternative Wife blog. We had a great time lounging in the hotel's gorgeous lobby and chatting up a storm about blogging, shopping and beach houses.

A very special thank you to Sarah Klassen for posting my trailer video on her gorgeous blog and to Chick Lit Central for hosting a giveaway and review.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Monday!!!

Happy Monday!! This is a big week for me as my novel is being released in the United States tomorrow. I am running around trying to pack for a short trip to New York City and am having a hard time figuring out what to wear since the weather totally changed in the last few days.( for the worst!)

I feel like Catherine, the main character of my story, trying to pack for a work conference: there are piles of clothing and shoes everywhere, and although I'll only be there 48 hours, it looks like I'm going away for an entire month!

The highlight of my trip (other than promoting my book) will be attending a fashion show by Juliette Longuet, the fabulous host of the TV show New York, New York.

I will happily report back with pictures.

Have a fantastic week! XO
