Have a great weekend!!!

Okay, so enough with the serious stuff.

What are you up to this weekend?

I've got a busy program that includes a dinner party, fixing up a family member's new place and a book signing event on Sunday.

In the meantime, I'll be putting up my feet a bit later and enjoying a well deserved glass of red wine!

If you haven't see this already, take a look at the J'adore Dior  film in the Palais des Glaces at Versailles.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Friday + Cheers from the backwoods!

I thought I would post a little tribute to the start of New York Fashion Week from the backwoods of Canada.( aka my cottage.)

While many of you were shopping and partying it up during Fashion Night Out yesterday evening, I was working on my fourth draft of J'Adore Paris in my very unglamorous flannel pj's with my best friends ( my coffee maker + Diet Coke ) and loyal pooch Leo.

You see writing a novel is a lonely gig and is far from glamorous or easy. Some days, it flows and you're on top of the world. Other days, you simply want to pull your hair out and throw in the towel and go back to doing whatever it was that you were doing before.  (In my case, billing my time as a lawyer.)

Then after the clouds pass, luckily, there is a glimmer of hope; something that pulls you back to your story, your craft. For me, it's the lovely messages received from my readers, a wonderful & inspirational blog post , or a simple quote:

And I'm back at it in full swing.

Any success requires huge amounts of hard work, unflinching dedication and sacrifices.

As for the shopping & parties I missed last night, well I did a bit of my own online! :o)

Have a wonderful day,

Isabelle

J'Adore K. Slademade

I am desperately trying to pick up my jaw from the floor...I just came across something so pretty & tantalizing that I needed a second to pull myself together!
K. Slademade uses natural leathers and beautiful fabrics from her travels and local shops to be the basis of her designs. She also uses her pretty sisters as models for her lovely collection.

What can I say? I am completely sold. Period. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to place an order...

Scenes from the weekend + Announcements

The first pictures were taken by me during the long weekend and I added pictures of my birthday gift from Dior.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I made the Ivy salad from Gwyneth's cookbook and it was DIVINE!

I attended a cocktail yesterday evening at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts to celebrate the announcement of an important donation by my friend Michel De La Chenelière to create a children's education wing. It will increase the number of annual school visits and the museum's educational curriculum. Bravo Michel for such a generous gesture!

Finally, if you happen to live in the Paris area ( lucky you if you do!) Please drop by the vernissage by talented artist Sophie Le Guillou this week, you won't be disappointed as she creates gorgeous affiches!

Happy Tuesday!!!

Hello dear friends, I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day long weekend! Mine was a mixture of fun & work, as I attended the Brome Fair with family, worked on my book on Monday while it rained and spent some time chatting with a local author. I also spent a lovely Sunday in Vermont, relaxing by the lake, browsing in bookstores and even making a pit stop at J.Crew.

I am attending an event this evening at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and am looking forward to wearing the vintage dress I bought while on vacation this summer.

I have some exciting things to share later this week, so please drop in again!

In the meantime, you can view my latest Ideabook on Houzz.com here. If you do like it, please share it on Twitter and Facebook.

Merci beaucoup!

Have a great weekend !!!

I just had to post this lovely poem as it touches me deeply. It is the basis for the story in my novel, J'Adore New York, which is being released officially in the U.S. October 4th! I am very excited at the prospect and thank all of you for your immense support.

Have a fantastic weekend!
